Goodie Nation Secures $150K+ in Grants from Kapor Center, Emory’s Philanthropy Lab, & the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s GoATL Economic Inclusion Fund to Propel Atlanta’s Black Tech Community Forward
We are thrilled to announce that Goodie Nation has been awarded $150,000+ in grants from the Kapor Center, Emory Philanthropy Lab, and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s GoATL Economic Inclusion Fund. This funding will significantly bolster our ATL BLK TCH program, aimed at fostering a robust and interconnected Black tech community in Atlanta.
Building Bridges in the Black Tech Community
ATL BLK TCH is designed to be a beacon for Black tech professionals in Atlanta, providing a platform for networking, mentorship, and growth. With this new influx of funds, we are poised to take our efforts to new heights with several major projects:
- Ecosystem Mapping Project: We will embark on a comprehensive mapping of organizations that support K-12 education, college initiatives, the tech workforce, startups, and investors. This project will create a detailed landscape of resources and connections available within the Black tech ecosystem, making it easier for community members to navigate and leverage these opportunities.
- Angel Investor Training Project: Recognizing the importance of investment in the growth of tech startups, we will launch an Angel Investor Training program. This initiative aims to educate and empower investors, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to support and invest in Black-owned tech startups.
- Online Slack Community: To foster continuous engagement and collaboration, we will establish an online Slack community. This digital space will serve as a hub for discussions, resource sharing, and networking among Black tech professionals in Atlanta.
- Member Search Platform: We are developing an online platform that will enable members to search for and connect with other community members. This tool will enhance networking opportunities, facilitate mentorship connections, and support collaboration across various tech sectors.
A Unified Vision for a Thriving Community
Our vision for ATL BLK TCH is to create a cohesive and thriving Black tech community in Atlanta. The generous support from the Kapor Center, Emory Philanthropy Lab, and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s GoATL Economic Inclusion Fund is a testament to the importance of this mission. These funds will enable us to build a stronger, more connected community, where Black tech professionals can thrive and succeed.
We invite you to join us on this exciting journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we roll out these projects and continue to build a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive tech ecosystem in Atlanta.
Together, we can create a future where Black tech talent in Atlanta is recognized, supported, and celebrated.
